MAKS 2013

MAKS 2013, the Eleventh International Aviation and Space Salon held from August 27 to September 1, 2013, became the largest event in the history of air shows in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. Despite unfavorable weather conditions, the total amount of visitors exceeded 350,000 people. During the first three days of MAKS 2013, about 70,000 experts attended the show.

Experts and aviation fans could see a lot of new products including upgraded airliner Tu-204SM, new transport aircraft Il-76MD-90A, the first prototype of Ka-62 helicopters, new combat helicopters Mi-28UB Night Hunter, Ka-52 Alligator, business version of the passenger aircraft Sukhoi Superjet 100, upgraded aircraft An-2-100 with a new engine and fighter aircraft T-50 of the fifth generation.

The Russian Helicopters Holding demonstrated the newest upgraded version of Mi-8/17 helicopters – helicopter Mi-171A2 – as well as one of the prototypes of the transport and passenger helicopter Mi-38 (which broke five world records in 2012). In addition, a prototype of the new medium-weight helicopter Ka-62 was presented as a part of the MAKS 2013 air show for the first time.

A number of large-scale contracts were signed for six days of the MAKS 2013 air show. Moreover, a decision was made to build a Russian Transport Aircraft Industry Center in the Ulyanovsk region. The International Aviation Congress was held for the first time as a part of the air show. Its participants discussed the possibilities for creating the world aviation industry center in Russia.

More than 4,500 experts including managers of the Aviasystems Group of Companies took part in the Business Program of the air show. This year, the Business Program included more than 70 events: science, technical and practical conferences, workshops and round tables including a part of them with the participation of international companies as well as presentations of different projects and programs in the field of aviation industry, aviation history and social sciences. 

Representatives of the Aviasystems Group of Companies visited a conference on the modernization of the An-140 aircraft organized by JSC Aviakor Aviation Plant jointly with the Antonov Group. New aircraft configuration options were presented and a joint venture agreement was signed between JSC Aviakor Aviation Plant and the Antonov Group as a part of the conference.

Experts of the Aviasystems Group of Companies also took part in the all-Russian conference devoted to cooperation among Russian aircraft corporations organized by JSC Special Economic Zones, Ulyanovsk region. The key issues discussed at the conference were related to cooperation among aircraft corporations, methods to reduce the product cost, requirements to suppliers of CJSC Aviastar-SP, and development of programs as a part of JSC United Aircraft Corporation’s programs based on beneficial conditions in special economic zones.

Experts of the Aviasystems Group of Companies organized a number of business meetings and negotiations during the air show. In particular, they discussed problems related to ensuring the turnover of spare parts manufactured by Motor Sich JSC in the territory of the Russian Federation.

Our experts also visited booths of their partners, CJSC Transas Aviation and JSC Kontur-NIIRS. As a part of the bilateral service contracts, Aviasystems became the assigned logistics operator in charge of the set of works related to the range of products manufactured and repaired by the aforesaid enterprises.

The MAKS 2013 International Aviation and Space Salon became a venue for meeting business partners, socializing in a homelike atmosphere and enjoying the bright and busy demonstration program of the air show.
