Business Aviation Forum is the major annual event in Russia and CIS, which traditionally brings together business aviation operators, aircraft manufacturers, airports and handling companies, suppliers of products and services for the industry, and governmental authorities.

In 2011, the event was attended by leading experts of the domestic and foreign business aviation, representatives of insurance and leasing companies, banks, law companies, and aircraft manufacturers.

The industry experts presented their reviews of the situation in the business aviation market, provided their forecasts, and addressed a number of issues related to the domestic and European legislation. Among the speakers in the conference were experts from the leading companies, such as Airclaims CIS, Debevoise & Plimpton, Gates and Partners, NetJets Europe, СJSC Aviasystems, Avcom-D, and CDOS CA Aerotrans. At the Forum’s round table representatives of the industry leaders shared their views regarding the current situation in the market and formulas to survive in the post-crisis economy environment.

Deputy CEO of СJSC Aviasystems, Sergey Potapov, presented his report titled “IS-BAO Audit: Best Practices”. IS-BAO, the international standard for business aircraft operations, was developed by the International Business Aviation Council, IBAC, which brings together national associations of business aviation from all over the world. IS-BAO is intended for existing operators, business aviation companies and their corporate departments, seeking to organize their business in conformity with the international standards as well as for new organizations focused on managing business aircraft.

IS-BAO has become worldwide, where for 8 years of its existence more than 350 companies obtained IS-BAO certificates of registration. СJSC Aviasystems is now the only Russian consulting company entitled to perform such audits. In October 2010, specialists of the company undergone training and were accredited by IBAC as IS-BAO Auditors. The accreditation of the auditors allows СJSC Aviasystems to conduct training for airlines and business aviation operators as well as carry out audits to verify compliance with the IS-BAO standards on behalf of the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC).

The “IS-BAO Audit: Best Practices” report addressed such questions as: What is IS-BAO audit, and who and why needs the IS-BAO standards? The speaker also familiarised the participants in the conference with peculiarities of the IS-BAO standard structure, the content of IS-BAO chapters, the main characteristics and advantages of IS-BAO as well as with auditing procedures and certification for business aviation operators in Russia.
